Generic Opsumit 10mg Tab contains Macitentan as its active ingredient, which is categorized under the drug class known as Macitentan endothelin receptor antagonist (ERA). It is primarily used for the condition named pulmonary arterial hypertension, commonly known as PAH. It is a condition of high blood pressure in the arteries that carry blood to your lungs.  Not treating this condition will increase your heart workload, making it hard for you to be physically active.

In addition to the above, Macitentan 10mg Tablet works by inhibiting endothelin-1, which helps in relaxing blood vessels. This process results in low blood pressure in the lungs, helping prevent the damage from worsening.

• Low levels of red blood cells

Serious side effects

• Allergic reaction: Breathing problems or wheezing, racing heart, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, and tongue, or throat, trouble swallowing or throat tightness, itching, skin rash, or pale red bumps on the skin called hives, nausea or vomiting, fever, or general ill feeling, swollen lymph nodes

• Liver damage: Nausea or vomiting, stomach or belly pain, fever, weakness or unusual tiredness, itching, loss of appetite, light-colored poop, dark-colored urine (pee)

• Fluid retention: Chest pain, weight gain, shortness of breath that is worse than usual, stretched or shiny skin
