Generic Prandimet 1mg/500mg Tab comes from the drug class known as antidiabetics, which has two active ingredients known as metformin and Repaglinide. This medicine is mainly prescribed for addressing type 2 diabetes in adults along with a healthy diet and regular exercise. Repaglinide functions by stimulating the pancrease to produce insulin, while metformin functions by decreasing the amount of sugar that the liver makes.

Repaglinide 1mg &  metformin 500mg tablet are only prescribed for type 2 diabetes, not type 1. Using it for type 1 diabetes may worsen or exacerbate the existing condition.
