I had a tooth infection (serious pain). Was prescribed clindamycin for 7 days. It took 3 days to properly kick in and reduce the pain. After a week, I had no pain.

All the other meds for BV made me sick but Cleocin is the only medication that made me better from the 2nd day itself. I am on the 4th day and it has healed 90% of the infection with no side effects at all.
