Generic Cleocin T 1% Topical Lotion contains Clindamycin as Its primary active ingredient. Clindamycin is a topical antibiotic that is used to treat acne vulgaris of the skin and reduce the number of acne lesions. This medication works by stopping the proliferation of bacteria by inhibiting a pathway of bacterial protein formation. It is a structural analog to one organelle (tRNA) of the bacterial cell that takes its place to stop the synthesis of protein. This medication is not a regular moisturizer and should not be used this way unless your doctor advises you to do so.

Some more serious side effects that may occur due to the use of generic Clindamycin 1% lotion are:
A severe allergic reaction: Itching, rashes, hives, throat closing up, severe dizziness, swelling of lymph nodes, swelling of tongue, throat, or the face, trouble breathing, wheezing, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, diarrhea, etc.
C. difficile: Diarrhea that won’t stop, fruity smell in your stool, blood/ mucus on your stool, abdominal or stomach pain, stomach cramping. (do not use anti-diarrhea or opioid products if you have this, as it may make your condition worse.
Clean your hands. Clean and pat dry the affected areas of your skin. Apply this medication as your doctor has directed you to.
This medication is usually used twice a day.
Do not apply this medication to sensitive areas of your skin, such as your eye, nose, mouth, or any place where the skin barrier is broken.
If it goes into these areas by accident, it is advised to thoroughly rinse the area with cold water (not freezing).
